Anybody else stunned that he was fired?

THe guy slayed tge Divisional Giant 4 times in 6 games.

He had winning records the last two years after a 5-11 first year.

Solid defenses. And I thought Tua was making better ball judgements.

Don't get it. What did you Fla guys think?

maybe this isn't football related. How do you close the season winning 8 out of 9 games and get fired ?

The owner said it was a communication and collaboration issue. I thought they had a pretty good year and were heading in the right direction

Not sure but from the tea leaves sounds like another guy who thought he was Belichick just because he came up under Belichick. You can't just be a militant dick when you have no resume/pedigree.

Not to bring societal issues into it too much but he must've been on a good 1 to get fired with a winning record as a black coach, lol

Surprised the Shit out of me, I don't love his sideline demeanor all the time but can tell he is a Hell of a Coach. I would have to say some of the Top Talent on the Field and within the Organization must have wanted him gone. Jags need to go after him, IMO.

Hate the move. I thought he was doing a very good job.
Rumor has it that he didn’t get along well with the GM or owner.

I don’t think Flores cares for Tua too much and that’s what may have caused the problem

flores also did a poor job ok choosing his staff. Too much turnover and his o-line has under performed for such high draft picks.

still pissed he’s gone

Shocked me, the organization certainly improved under his direction. I'm happy the Fish fired him

He will be a head coach next year

Dolphins had a better team last year, so not sure they improved. They had that hot streak this year, but they basically feasted on mediocre to awful teams during that streak. Basically a playoff game and they get blown out of the water by the Titans

It was a good rally this year, and a good win at the end, but not sure they truly were improving/heading into the right direction even with their hot finish

The Miami Dolphins are clueless. Idiot organization that has been in the dumps for more than 20 years now. This must be personal as this guy can coach. He'll be hired ASAP. Giants should dump Joe Judge and hire him.

13-19 the two years before he arrived
19-14 the last two years
Going 8-1 to finish the season absolutely positively means something, you can't just brush that aside

He evidently wanted more say with the roster, and he's not a Tua type guy. The owner and the GM have a different vision. Let's see where this lands

Mediocre football team at the end of the day. Before that 8-1 finish, they started 1-7 after a 10-6 year . They had good momentum at the end I guess, but I view it more like a roller coaster if anything. Just comparing this team to last year, they were worse. I don’t mean strictly from a record standpoint

You’re right about the vision most likely. Sounds like he wanted DeShaun. I personally don’t know how good Tua is yet. He seems to get bashed a lot though

Owner is 81 years old and wants to win NOW as who knows how many more years he wants. Owner knows jack squat about football. I actually like him as an owner but wish he had more football smarts or wish he hired better people with football smarts.

Rumor has it that the fins would have gotten Watson at the trade deadline had all 18 accusations on him were to be cleared. He only had 14 at the time (not sure what that number is now)

I could see the fins go after Watson again (they have over 75M in cap space). I'm also nervous to see the king's ransom that they have to give up to get him

Dolphins GM been there six full years. Guess he can still take some credit for the turn around

I'm beginning to think the owner is more like a Snyder or Jones than a Kraft

75M is a lot. Patriots had 55M this year and look what they landed

The GM has been with the team for 20 years.

He had a crap load of free agent $$ before the 2020 season and most have been busts. Many of them were cut after 1 year (including Van Noy)
The only thing i was fine with his free agent signings were they were short term deals so its not killing their cap

He had 3 first round picks in 2020
Tua - jury still out
Austin Jackson- not a good left tackle
Noah long last name that starts with I from Auburn- DB who has only played special teams.

I will admit that his first 3 draft picks in the 21 draft have been SOLID (Waddle/Phillips/Holland)

I wouldnt compare the owner to a Jerry or a Snyder. He doesnt come off as controlling as Jerry or A-holish as Snyder. He's a jets fan who lives in New York who grew up in North Miami Beach. I like him. He spends money. He comes off as a nice guy. He just doesnt know $hit about football or running a team as Real Estate is his first love
